Because, okay, who here would seriously have a problem with Sherlock Holmes having powers like telekinesis and twirling a blue lightsaber? Or… possibly a red one… ^.^
My partner-in-crime, Ria (goes by the name LostWithoutMyDetective here), created a fusion crossover that put a young Holmes in the Star Wars universe, along with Moriarty,…[Read more] -

@Violet Hunter: You went to Cambridge? Awesome! I don’t know very much about the school but it does look like a beautiful place. 🙂 I haven’t really read any of Dorothy Sayers either; it’s just a factoid I picked up years ago (and I only recently read the original article, but it’d take a while to re-find the link).
Yeah, I love Kelly Reilly as…[Read more] -

Yeah, I missed it as a kid, too. Yeah, the robo!Watson arc was a good arc that should have lasted a bit longer, with some stronger reactions from Holmes.
Ahhhhhh, Beth, my queen. Even Moriarty acknowledges her capability, which is pretty big coming from him. She gets a little too worked up at times (I do have to wonder at the decisions behind…[Read more] -

Haaaaaaiiiii! *waves*
Jeremy Brett and Clive Merrison, yaaassss. Heh, I need to remember to try for both the Russian Holmes shows sometime, with subs! I hate watching characters speaking in another language and being unable to understand them!
Cambridge… like Dorothy Sayers’ headcanon? Niiiice, I’m for Cambridge, too! And Watson being married…[Read more] -

So… it’s cheesy, it’s corny, it’s hammy, it’s very late ’90s… but it’s still SO much fun. Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century was apparently created to introduce kids to the Sherlock Holmes stories and encourage them to read the originals. And the concept of bringing Sherlock Holmes back to life to fight (spoiler alert) a clone Moriarty is a…[Read more]

Do you mean re: Natalie Dormer? Hey, no problem—I’m pretty sure everybody in the fandom knows The Reveal by now! Kind like one of those “Luke, I am your father” things. 😀 And I’m all for a female Moriarty… I just wish Irene Adler hadn’t been vilified again for them to do it! :/

…okay, I’m seriously in love the term “Holmesing”. I need to use that now! But it’s true—DRJ doesn’t Holmes very much, except for when he looks out around a crowded room and that’s when he Holmeses very well, I think. But other than that… yeah.

@ScarletSherlock: Thank you! 😀 I must say, even I’m anxious to have the third movie if only because I’m dying to see how they handle the whole return aspect! (And will they bring Moran back from it?? PLEASE???)
Natalie Dormer… I haven’t really watched Elementary yet, but I’d be willing to watch the episodes with her in it. (I don’t know, it…[Read more] -

And why? =) I myself really love FINA and EMPT, since I’m a bit of a Moriarty nut. FINA has a brilliant sequence cutting between Holmes at Scotland Yard, explaining Moriarty’s organization to Inspector Patterson’s men, and Moriarty’s “High Table”, at which his eight subordinate directors (yes, including Moran, squee!) are giving their reports, and…[Read more]

Okay, let’s see… thoughts… This will cover pretty much the whole movie and be serious and quirky. Kind of like tweets. *sigh* Where’s a TARDIS when you need one, I ask you??
Also, this is embarrassingly long. And embarrassingly embarrassing. Feel free to not have to read all of it!

Mm, my impression was always that Sherlockian was American and Holmesian was British/probably-the-rest-of-the-world. Since I often refer to the Great Detective by his full name or his first name, being American and Sherlockian is just fine with me. 😀 Maybe things have blurred a bit, though, with the advent of Sherlock?

Wow, thanks for this! I’m kinda miffed for forgetting about this and missing it! Love the commentary. xD
Can latecomers (who am I kidding, it’s just me, right? 😛 ) add comments about the movie here, or save it for another thread…? Wouldn’t mind still having a chance just to chat about the film, ‘cos it’s good fun, even as ridiculous as it is. 😀 -

Lol, yeah, won’t deny the cheese is there.
Ah, yeah, I still don’t really understand why Christopher Plummer went blond—that was exactly the wrong coloring for Holmes! But yeah, his charisma totally makes up for it. <3 - Load More
