Friends,
Yesterday, November 13, 2015, France suffered an unbelievably horrific attack. We all know that our beloved Sherlock Holmes has French roots, and there are robust scions and fan groups in France. Our […]

So, as many Twitter followers noticed this weekend, I attended New York Comic Con at the Javits Center in Manhattan. It was beyond incredible on so many levels, but I certainly enjoyed all of the Holmesian […]

Oh wow, what a night!
Yesterday (Saturday, September 19, 2015), a group of Holmesians who are affiliated with my local scion traveled to Connecticut to attend a screening of the recently recovered 1916 William […]

It’s not even that I’m fully persuaded by the argument. I’m just completely in love with the drive these folks have to get everyone to know who George Boole was, and the contributions he made in the fields of […]

Haaaaa! I didn’t even think about that! I guess it’s spoilery? I mean, not really, right? That’s pretty well old, isn’t it?
If you’re feeling generous, you can go edit your comment to scream out SPOILING SPOILERS (can’t you do that? If not, I’m sure Scotland Yard can. ;))

Welcome, welcome, welcome!
I do so love capslock_holmes … we need more (moar?) or that sense of humor out and about in the world.
You seem to be doing just fine posting and whatnot, but if you run into any trouble, just holler! We’re planning to do another tweet-along next Friday, though I know time differences are sucksville, but if you’re…[Read more]

Sherbethed, you’ve got to watch the Nat!Do episodes — she’s excellent. She and Lucy Liu are just awesome together. Again, I could possibly kick JLM out of an ep or four and just have the wimmins kicking ass and taking names. I don’t know how that could work out, but it could be worked out. Let JLM direct or something, or go run a marathon, I…[Read more]

I don’t know about you, but I’ve found the whole business surrounding the “preservation” and/or “restoration” of Undershaw (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Hindhead home) a bit confusing.
In some cases, I’m getting […]

That’s a hell of a question! I think it makes sense that if you have observations about the second film, it would be perfect to post them here. Then we can just continue the chatter! If you’ve got a specific question or something that you think we should focus on and ponder as a group, feel free to start a new thread.

This is a great, great question.
I’m certainly a mix. If the book is rare, or collectible in some way, or just really beautiful, I’ll buy it. When I was on vacation, I stopped in a used book store and found an edition of The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes that had a really pretty jacket I’d never seen. I didn’t hesitate to buy it. I collect…[Read more]

Le Chat Noir replied to the topic So… do you guys recommend the Mary Russell series? in the forum Laurie R. King's Series 7 years, 6 months ago
These books are really not my cup of tea. It violates the main tenet of my derivative fiction rules:
1) Must Respect Watson (unless some kind of AMAZINGLY COMPELLING ARGUMENT IS MADE).
I’ve seen compelling arguments made (once or twice), and I’ve enjoyed the stories, but that is sooooo the exception to the rule. That’s usually the only thing to…[Read more]

I’m very happy for you, and I appreciate you sharing this.
Many (if not all) people on this forum have full-time jobs, live in different time zones/countries, and simply do not comment on every post/thread. That’s the nature of a message board. I highly doubt that anyone purposefully chose to avoid commenting. Commenting like this, however, may…[Read more]
