This book looks fascinating. It came out last year, I believe, and the paperback will be released on March 31, 2015; I think I’ll be buying the Kindle version presently.

The Remedy: Robert Koch, Arthur Conan Doyle, and the Quest to Cure Tuberculosis tells the story of German doctor Robert Koch who discovered the bacteria that caused tuberculosis, which was, at the time, the deadliest disease in the world. This is told in tandem with the story of ACD and his fiction. I’m not sure how the author is going to weave these two narrative threads together, but it does sound intriguing.

“Oh, you can't help that," said the cat. "We're all mad here.”
